Walk the walk.
The Media Design Matters track is about more than building a portfolio. It goes beyond simply doing good.
It’s about using design to reach out, to understand, and to learn. It’s about confronting assumptions. It’s about empathy. It’s about design that engages directly with people. Communication and public policy, design and civic media, technology and social action—this is what Media Design Matters is all about.
You can’t interact with a community when you’re sitting in a classroom. That’s why our students spend half their time working in the world, collaborating with people and with one another, guided by faculty from cultural computing, design research, and anthropology. That’s why our first partner is UNICEF and our first project is through their Innovation Lab with the people of Kampala, Uganda.
That’s why if you want to impact lives around the world—your own included—MDM is the track for you.
